Registration will open for Spring League 2014 on January 1st, 2014. (There will be a red banner under our SMBA logo that says Registration now open. Please click on that banner and you will be directed to the online registration). http://www.smba.leaguetoolbox.com/league/

Our Spring League Season will be begin March 31st and end on May 29th. There will be two practices the first week and one practice and one game a week for eight weeks. (There will be one practice following the Victoria week holiday)

There will also be a coaching clinic on Sunday March 30, 2014 that will be mandatory for all coaches that do not have a course from the SMBA or NCPP certification. Team coaches can pick up jerseys after the coach’s meeting/clinic on March 30, 2014 from 12pm-1pm . Do not send players for their jerseys as they can only get them from the coach.

The cost for Spring League is:

$100 (this cost includes a SMBA Spring League reversible jersey. If you do not have this jersey from a previous Spring League season please order one)

$80 (this is the cost if you have a SMBA Spring League reversible jersey from a previous year)

A $25 late Fee will be incurred after  February 28th, 2014. The last day to register is March 7th.

Late fee of $25 will be added to the total if your fees are received after February 28th, 2014. If you have registered before the deadline but paid after the late fee deadline you will incur the late fee.

If you have registered online and decided to pay by cheque or cash, please mail or drop off payments to 162 Beechdale Cres. Saskatoon, Sk. S7V 0A3. All cheques should be made out to SMBA. All payments made offline should be mailed or dropped off as soon as the registration has been done. This will help avoid those pesky emails saying you owe money. Thanks for helping us make things run smoothly.

IF you have played SMBA Spring League in past years you should already have a SMBA Spring League blue and white reversible jersey. If you have never player in our Spring League program before you will be required to order one when you register. These are not the same as the jerseys you use for the fall league. Those jerseys belong to the Community Association you are playing with and must be returned to them when the Fall league has ended.

No player will be guaranteed a spot after March 2nd, 2014. The last day to register is March 17th. 2013. Consideration goes to players who have registered and paid before the deadline.

Softball registration Feb. 11 and 12

When – February 11th & 12th

Where – Silverwood & Dundonald Schools (sign up at the location most convienent to you!)

Times – 6:00pm to 8:00pm both nights

Cost – $150 Squirt, Peewee and Bantam

– $50 Rookie and Mites

– $30 Blastball

Note: There is a $30 uniform deposit required at registration for Rookie, Mites and Blastball


Skate with the Blades a huge succes!

FREE Learn to Skate program

Ice-SkatesThe City of Saskatoon is excited to offer four weeks of winter skating fun for everyone!  Join us at St. George School rink for a free learn to skate experience.

NO REGISRTATION is required. Just show up. Learning is progressive so attending all sessions will maximize the benefit.

February 22, March 1, 8, 15 from 9:00 am – 12:00 pm.   

  • Program leaders will offer structured and unstructured activities to develop basic skating skills.
  • Participants must provide their own equipment and will be required to wear CSA approved winter helmets.  Bike helmets are not suitable.  Children under the age of six must be accompanied by an adult or responsible youth.
  • Program may be cancelled in the event of inclement weather.

There will be two levels of lessons available and will assist in basic skill development. Staff on site will work with participants to meet their needs. Staff will run lessons at designated times or as participants request.  Ages 6-15


Family Skate with the Blades 1-2:30PM Jan. 19

The LHCA is pleased to be hosting a family fun day with the Saskatoon Blades on Sunday January 19, 1:00 -2:30 PM at St. George School rink.

blades logoThe day will start with the Blades playing an exhibition shinny game (all invited to watch) followed by a chance to:

  • meet and skate with the players
  • get autographs
  • take a photo with Blades mascot Poke Check
  • Jim Cuddy from Blue Rodeo will be there!


Coffee and hot chocolate from Tim’s will be available, as well as hot dog’s from Boryski’s, and there will be a DJ playing some fresh grooves too!
